Lync Web App Mac Problem
Hi Peter,
Nov 27, 2010 One of the new features in Lync Server is the ability to use the Address Book Web Query (ABWQ) component in place of the default Address Book Service (ABS) for the standard Lync client. By default only the Lync Phone Edition, Web App, and Mobile clients will leverage real-time web-query based searches against the Lync Server’s rtcab (or rtcab1) database which stores the same address book. Mar 01, 2017 Now try installing the Lync Web App Plugin again, which should now work just fine. OPTIONAL: In Firefox press CTRL+SHIFT+A to open Add-Ons, go to Plugins and set 'Microsoft Lync Web App Plug-in' to 'always activate', so that your user saves some clicks. User friendly. OPTIONAL (or 100% needed for some admins): Revoke the admin rights for the user.
Apr 15, 2018 You can start a Lync Web Conferencing via audio and video communication, screen sharing, file sharing, and text messaging etc. It allows up to 5 video feeds per session with a maximum of 250 participants. However, many users have even reported that there's a synchronization problem when communicating between their mobile app and a desktop client. Dec 04, 2014 Click through these directories: 'Lync' 'Install' 'PC' 'Lync 2013 with SP1.' To install the software, click 'setup.' To burn a CD image of the software for a later install, go back up to 'Lync 2013 with SP1,' then click 'DVD image' and save the enclosed file. Scoping the problem. Let's assume that you want to troubleshoot issues that occur when users try to join a Skype for Business Online (formerly Lync Online) meeting by using Lync 2010, Lync 2013, the Lync for Windows Store app, or Lync for Mac 2011.
I used this solution below and my MBP back to login in my Lync server:
This Fixed My issue, I make sure you always allow the trust in the last step.
To resolve the 'Sign in to Microsoft Lync failed because the service is not available or you may not be connected to the Internet.' you need to reimport your Lync server certificate.
Ask your system administrator of the Lync server to export the server certificate and provide to you:
¹ Not available for Lync for Mac 2011 users and Macintosh users running Lync Web App. ² If one participant is already in control when another requests control, the latter sees the notification Another participant is requesting control. Try again later. ³ If multiple requests come in one after another, they are accepted in order. Audio from all participants will be heard, but the Skype for Business on Mac client will only display video of the current speaker. The Web App could be used if viewing video from multiple participants at once if desired. See how to use the Web App when you have the client installed.
- Log into Lync server
- Open MMC > Add/Remove Snap-in > Select Certificates > Click Add > Select Computer account > Click Next > Local computer > Finish > OK
Lync Web App Troubleshooting
- Expand Certificates > Personal > Certificates
- Click on the certificate with the fully qualified domain name (i.e. Lyncserver.xyz.com) with the intended purpose 'Server Authentication'
If downloaded file can not be extracted (file corrupted.), please make sure you have downloaded the file completely and don't use Winzip, it sucks! Affinity designer free trial mac.

- Right click > All Tasks > Export > Next > No, do not export the private key > Select Base-64 encoded X.509 (.CER) > Next > Give it a name (fully qualified domain name) > Next > Finish
Once provided with the .cer file, exit Lync on your Mac, double click the .cer file to import it into your keychain. Once imported, double click the certificate in Keychain and in the Trust section change 'When using this certificate' to 'Always Trust'.
Start Lync back up, and you should be able to log in.

Hello,
I am having the same issues. I run Office 365 and Lyn 2013 does not recognize the camera. I have went around the world with this issue. From what I am being told is it is a Lync issue. Mine worked fine before OS Mavericks. When I upgraded, this is when I started having issues. However, if you ise Lync 2011, there is a fix by Microsoft. I downloaded it and now that part works fine. I am running Windows 8.1 on Parallels. Everyone has pointed the finger at each other. Search for Update for Lync 2011 and at least you will be able to use it on Mac.
